Spammers hit Generator
I got notification on Jan 5 that three new comments had been posted to my Generator post, Property and Owernship - Part 3. Take a look...
The "posted by" links go to ads for paxil, levitra, and fioricet, respectively. The culprits are techno@msn.com, genchet@yahoo.com, and genchet@mail.com.
What is the appropriate action to take?

Comments
Spam comments can be deleted one of two ways.
1. Just go to:
http://www.puddingbowl.org/mt/mt.cgi?__mode=menu&blog_id=3
Check the right column where it says "Five most recent comments."
Click on the link for the suspect columns and click the "delete" button at the bottom of the comment field.
2. We also have a de-spamming tool on the site which should be including a link at the bottom of each notification mail you receive when you get a new comment. The link should be immediately under text that reads:
De-spam using MT-Blacklist
If you open that link in your browser, you should be taken to a page entitled "MT-Blacklist," which will include a list of the URLs in the spam, the content of the spam comment, and a button that reads "Go forth now and do my bidding!"
ALL you need to do is click that button. The offending URL will be blacklisted so that it can't be used again in a comment, and the offending comments will be expunged.
If you don't see that link in the notification mails you've received, or if that link doesn't work as described, please let me know.

which reminds me: is removing spam comments the kind of thing that's okay for either of us to do? or is this something you want to be solely responsible for?

"you," in this case, being sven. ambiguous pronouns. :P
